Moreover, surely you could appreciate the fact that HQ would prefer higher ranking Officers than PO/MT's. Also, there would anyways be many internal candidates looking for movement to HQs.

Structure of CWE Online Examination - Preliminary and Main Examination for CWE IBPS PO/MT VI

IBPS PO/MT VI consists of Preliminary Online Examination, Main Online Examination and an Interview in the end.

Online Examination Pattern

Pattern of Online Preliminary Examination for CWE IBPS PO/MT VI

The Preliminary Examination is an examination of 1 hour, in which the following test areas are evaluated:

Test Subject Questions Marks
English 30 30
Quantitative 35 35
Reasoning 35 35

Preliminary Exam consists of a total 100 questions.

Thus for each question the candidate gets just a little bit more than half-a-minute to solve and mark the answer online.

To be eligible in Preliminary Examination, the candidate would have to secure cut-off marks in each test subject (section).

Candidates securing such marks would then be eligible for the Main Examination.

Pattern of Online Main Examination for CWE IBPS PO/MT VI

The Main Examination is an examination of 2 hours 20 minutes (140 minutes) in total, which evaluates the following areas:

Test Subject Questions Marks Time allotted
Reasoning 50 50 40 minutes
English 40 40 30 minutes
Quantitative 50 50 40 minutes
General Awareness 40 40 20 minutes
Computer Knowledge 20 20 10 minutes

It should be noted that other than the test of English Language, all the other sections will be available in both English and Hindi medium for the candidates.

Also, each of the section in Main Examination is separately timed, so when time for one section is over, you cannot go have a look at it again.

The section on General Awareness has a special focus on Banking questions.

Wrong Answer

Each wrong answer in both Preliminary and Main Online examination means a deduction of 0.25 marks. There is no penalty for leaving an answer blank.

Examination Centres

There are tentatively 36 State/UT where the examinations are going to be held. The total number of centres might change, increase or decreases as per IBPS's discretion, due to number of responses or administrative facility.

Online form gives choice to candidates for selection of centre. But IBPS might end up allotting any other centre than opted one.

Scores

Scores if normalised, will be taken up to 2 decimal places for calculations.

Cut Off Score

A candidate has to secure a minimum score in each of the test of Online Main examination and a minimum total score too, to be considered to be shortlisted for interview.

The cut-off will be decided after the result, depending upon the number vacancies available. Total score in Main Examination will be shared with the candidates only after the interview process is over.
Marks obtained in the Main Examination ONLY will be considered for shortlisting for interview and also for final merit listing.
Thus marks obtained in Preliminary examination just act as marks to remove the excess candidates.
