Eligibility for IBPS PO/MT VI 2016

The detailed recruitment notification for IBPS PO/MT VI, details the eligibility criteria as fulfilling the minimum requirement for CWE PO/MT VI

Eligibility for IBPS PO/MT VI 2016



Nationality Criteria:

    1. Indian,
    2. Subject of Nepal,
    3. Subject of Bhutan,
    4. Tibetan refugee who came to India before 01 January 1962
    5. a person of Indian origin who has migrated from Pakistan, Burma, Sri Lanka, East African countries of Kenya, Uganda, the United Republic of Tanzania (formerly Tanganyika and Zanzibar), Zambia, Malawi, Zaire, Ethiopia and Vietnam with the intention of permanently settling in India.

Age Criteria:

    1. Minimum Age: 20 Years
    2. Maximum Age: 30 Years

Age relaxation:

    1. Schedule Caste and Scheduled Tribe is eligible for relaxation of 5 years
    2. Other Backward Classes, non-creamy layer is eligible for relaxation of 3 years
    3. Persons with Disability (PwD) are eligible for relaxation of upto 10 years
    4. Ex-Servicemen, Commissioned Officers including Emergency Commissioned Officers (ECOs)/ Short Service Commissioned Officers (SSCOs) are eligible for relaxation of 5 years subject to condition that they have rendered at least 5 years of military service.
    5. Persons ordinarily domiciled in the state of Jammu & Kashmir during the period 01.01.1980 to 31.12.1989 are eligible for relaxation of upto 5 years
    6. Persons affected by 1984 riots are eligible for relaxation of 5 years too.

Education Qualification

    1. A recognised graduation degree in any discipline from a recognised University.
    2. The candidate needs to hold a valid mark sheet or degree certificate proving that they are a graduate on the day of registration.
    • This essentially renders students in last year of their graduate degree are ineligible to apply.
    • Education qualification documents should have the result declare on or before 13 August 2016 from Board or University, as applicable.

Calculation of Percentage:

Even though the notification talks about calculation of percentage, it doesn't say anything about the minimum percentage required in any of the educational qualification.

The percentage marks shall be arrived at by dividing the total marks obtained by the candidate in all the subjects in all semester(s)/year(s) by aggregate maximum marks in all the subjects irrespective of honours / optional / additional optional subject, if any. This will be applicable for those Universities also where Class / Grade is decided on basis of Honours marks only.
The fraction of percentage so arrived will be ignored i.e. 59.99% will be treated as less than 60% and 54.99% will be treated as less than 55%.
